Art in the Park - Cork

Artists in residence project which ran until 2013 at The Lord Mayor's Pavilion, Fitzgerald Park, Cork City. Visual artist and project manager P Gurgel-Segrillo, visual artist Monica Jones and textile artist Louise Foott were the core artists.

In this beautiful Arts and Crafts style building they created art inspired by the park, as well as invited other Cork City artists for collaborations, exhibitions and to offer classes, workshops and arts facilitation sessions.
Art in the Park - Cork was a self-funded project - it did not rely on public funding and there was always FREE entry to the building.

For more information about the project please contact  P Gurgel-Segrillo, Project Manager artinthepark@gurgel-segrillo.com

P Gurgel-Segrillo continues to offer Arts & Crafts workshops. She is a member of CRAFTed: Crafts Council of Ireland's Education Panel which aims for the development and delivery of training programmes relating to the Visual Arts curriculum at primary level.

Shiny Happy City, a participatory exhibition

An invitation to think outside the box! From 19th to 28th of April 2013 extended till May 3rd!

The Art in the Park team has developed a unique treat for our visitors: packaging materials, kindly donated over the last weeks, have been carefully prepared using papier-mâché techniques, providing a blank “canvas” for our imagination to go run wild.

Come share your ideas and help create our dream city!

Let’s be inspired by themes such as: community, sustainability, “be the change you want to see in the world”, all-inclusive spaces, cultural diversity etc.

Materials will be available for two weeks or until they run out. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please ring/text 0861099084 for opening times.

For more information please contact project manager Patricia Gurgel-Segrillo artinthepark@gurgel-segrillo.com
